Grunts and growls, hoots and howls...this camp is wild! Discover a camp unlike any other at ZooAmerica®! Sign your kids up for a journey of exploration, learning, and adventure this summer. ZooAmerica offers exciting camp sessions for children of all ages, from preschool through high school. Campers will leave with a greater appreciation for nature and a deeper understanding of the wild of North America.
Our summer ZooCamp will include a visit to the Hersheypark Aquatheatre to meet the Ocean Connections seals and sea lions. Participants will experience the magic of marine mammals up close through learning opportunities that support each camp's theme.

Preschool ZooCamp (Ages 4 & 5)
Campers will have fun while exploring the wild and exciting world of animals. Children must be four or five years old by the start of camp, or entering kindergarten in Fall 2025.

Preschool ZooCamp is designed for our younger friends. Children must be four or five years old by the start of camp, or entering kindergarten in fall 2025. Each day of ZooCamp revolves around an animal-themed story and includes a craft, a snack, an up-close look at one of our animals, and a short walk in the zoo. Campers will have fun while exploring the wild and exciting world of animals. Preschool explorers will love coming to ZooCamp each morning.

Our school-age camps are divided into age groups. There are sessions for 1st through 3rd grade, and 4th through 6th grade.

School-age ZooCamp is designed to provide creative opportunities for learning about the wonders of our natural world. Children seeking a unique adventure will thoroughly enjoy this day camp experience. Each day is themed and filled with animal encounters, cool crafts, guided zoo walks, lively discussions, and more.
Morning sessions are held Monday - Thursday 9 AM - 12 PM
Afternoon sessions are held Monday - Thursday 1:30 - 4:30 PM
Full-day sessions are held Monday - Thursday 9AM - 4 PM
Please note: On the Friday evening of each school-age camp week, campers and their immediate family (up to four total, including the camper) can visit ZooAmerica for a special Creatures of the Night® experience. Middle-school ZooCamp is designed to give students an interactive behind-the-scenes experience. Campers will be able to shadow naturalists during their opening routine in the morning, make enrichment activities for select animals, construct conservation projects, and more. This camp is for those entering 7th, 8th and 9th grade.

ZooCrew I & II (entering grades 10, 11 & 12)
The ZooCrew camps are for students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2025. Both ZooCrew I and II are designed for high school students who have an interest in the zoological sciences, wildlife conservation, and animal-related careers. Participants will gain practical experience in environmental education and will have the opportunity to observe the zoo during its daily operation. They should enjoy thinking creatively and be comfortable sharing knowledge.
An enrollment form must be completed and submitted by each participant. Parents need to complete the registration form. If accepted into a ZooCrew session, parents will be contacted for payment instructions.
Please note: Attending ZooCrew I during a prior year is a prerequisite for participation in ZooCrew II.

Some of the topics for ZooCrew I include the following: anatomy and classification, animal handling, family presentations, enrichment lesson and project, falconry presentation, exhibit design, veterinary experience, zoo careers discussion, ZooAmerica’s conservation initiatives, nature-inspired crafts, and a local field trip.
